We have volunteered for years to spend a few hours on a Saturday to be a Bell Ringer for the Red Kettle Campaign. Their statement is …”The Salvation Army, established in 1865, has been supporting those in need in Jesus’ name for 130 years in the United States. Provided services range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless, and opportunities for underprivileged children. 82 cents of every dollar spent is used to carry out those services in 5,000 communities nationwide.”
The proceeds go to support the local ministries of The Salvation Army that include our Emergency Assistance Program, Men’s and Women’s Transitional Housing Programs, Disaster Relief, the Joy D. Baker Center for women impacted by Domestic Violence and for Homeless Women with Children, and our Rainbow Promises program focused on the needs of the children living at the Joy D. Baker Center.
