Although Corry is not fond of heights, we found the skybridge in Gatlinburg to be a beautiful experience. “Located at the top of the SkyLift, the Gatlinburg SkyBridge is the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in North America and the most spectacular experience in the Smokies.
From the mountain-top SkyDeck, the SkyBridge quite literally crosses the sky as it stretches 680 feet across a deep valley in a single span. Guests can walk across at their own pace, taking in the panoramic views and enjoying the spectacular setting before walking back when they’re ready. With a height of 140 feet at its midpoint, the SkyBridge is an incredible but easily attainable experience you’ll remember for a lifetime – especially as you cross the glass-floor panels in the middle of the span.”
We also enjoyed tasting a variety of moonshine at the Gatlinburg Sugarlands Distillery!!
Gatlinburg is a very short drive from Knoxville, about 1 hour, and we want to be sure that we enjoy this area more since it is practically right out our backdoor in the mountains!
